True love

Hello all,

This week I have been playing with the Stacy Cling stamps and my Distress inks to make my own "designer paper" and this little Card/Photo frame was the result.

The Stamp I used was the corner stamp from poppies, and I just stamped twice (once upside down) so I got a full image.
Just a tip if you are going to colour your images, make sure you use a permanent ink like Stazon which wont run when you add water to your distress inks!

Here is another handmade flower nestled into some Prima silk flowers (which are really bendable and great to use) the center is some bling that I scored in Bev's Bargins so go take a look as she always has some great stuff.

And here it is all closed up.

The frame piece is from My Minds Eye and I have added some dimensional tape on the back so you can slip a photo into it before giving away.

I must say that the colouring did take quite a while on this one, but it was a very relaxing process.
so make a cuppa and give it a go, and you can make your own papers in any colour you like.

Have a great weekend everyone.

xx Kristy

Flower Layout

Hi Everyone!

Here's a sneek peek at what I have been doing this week, can you guess what it was????

Well if you cant guess, I have been playing with the Sizzix Tattered Flower Garland die and the McGill Paper blossom kit.(on the left)
This is a fantastic tool set which makes manipulating the die pieces so easy, it comes with a good variety of sizes and also some awesome tweezers that really help to avoid hot glue burns! yay!

Here is a shot of some of the blooms that I made using the tools, and with the exception of the three white flowers on the right all of these flowers were made with the one sizzix die, talk about versatile!

So what did I do with all of these blooms you ask??? well I made a layout using my leftover Prima Optimist paper Bling, and a few things from my stash.

I was going to do a step by step but here is the first photo........

And here is the second....opps, I think I got a little carried away.

Anyway here are a few close ups for you.

The best thing I love about this layout was that I made every flower on the page except the red ones.

So I hope you give the die and tools go, I have linked them for you below so go take a look at Scotties website and get creative.

Have a great week

No place like home

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post from me this week to share with you my latest card.

My inspiration was the Prima Optimist paper with all of these beautiful poppies, it just reminded me so much of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.

The image is a Saturated canary digi called Pigtails, but I think she makes a perfect Dorothy., and I have colored her with Distress inks and Markers

Its hard to see in the photos but Dorothy's ruby slippers are actually very 3d and shiny, To get this look I mixed some ruby Martha Stewart glitter with Stickles ....... and then added glossy accents, I did two layers of this and I really like how they turned out.

Here is a little collage of the flowers I have used, a couple have been sprayed and glittered and all have been distressed with some gesso!

This cute little picket fence is the Sizzix Iron work gate, its actually about 12 inches so is very versatile and can be used on 12 x 12 layouts too.

Well that's it from me, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Kristy xx

Daddys little helper

(Sorry all I forgot to post this to my personal blog last week so everyone who follows the Scottie crafts blog can go back to their knitting and ignore this post - i will be back tomorrow with something new tho so check in then)

Hello everyone!

Kristy here with some more pocket scrapbooking inspiration for you.

This week im playing with the Prima optimist range and some photos of my little one from last year that I have been waiting to scrap.

Im loving how most ranges are coming out with papers that seem almost designed for these types of projects and these papers especially fit this theme perfectly, Yipeeee!!!

For the below piece, I cut a doily using a Couture Creations die and using a mix of White Stazon ink and the Zig chalk writer pen added a tittle for my page.
Then I adhered this to a white piece of cardstock edged with Black Soot Distress Ink.

The bottom right card is also one I put together myself, I used a memory box die to cut the poppy silhouette out of black cardstock and then added gesso and distress stain to give it a chalkboard look to match the paper line, and some doodling with the Zig pen.

Here is a close up of some of the embellishments I have used, the Bee and Butterfly are Prima Canvas pieces which I have stamped and sprayed, and the wooden frame is from Kaisercraft and this is just gesso'd and then stamped with Black stazon ink.

The last few embellishments I added to my pages were some Prima bling and Prima leaves, these I altered with white Stazon with the Couture Creations doily stamp (yes its the one that matches the tittle......im a bit sad like that)

And that's it, very quick and super easy.

Pocket Scrapbooking with Kaisercraft

Hi everyone!

Kristy here again to show you my latest pocket scrapbook page.

If you haven't tried out pocket scrapbooking I definitely recommend it.
Im a mother to a very energetic 15 month old so I don't have much down time to record all her shenanigans, but this is definitely a quick and beautiful way to record all of those beautiful moments and memories that I never want to forget.

Here is the little madam now running around Nana's garden!

I have used a combination of the Kaisercraft collectables, stickers, the queen of hearts paper and 6.5 x 6.5 paper stack for this project.

and I will later go in and fill up these spaces with journaling or a title

To get the rounded look I have used a mix of the poppy stamps die and a corner rounder punch, its very handy to have both up your sleeve.

And to finish off the look I have also inked everything in Peacock feathers Distress ink to give things a little pop and tie it all together.

And that's it, Simple but super cute.

Here are the links to the yummy products that I have used this week.
