Its Blog Hop time at Scotties!!! Yay !!!

Christmas is less then two months away and as you have seen by previous blog posts the DT have been creating beautiful Christmas Projects and for the next week they will be creating Christmas Crackers all week! 

Please come visit the blog everyday for the next week to see their gorgeous crackers. Make sure you read the whole post each day for instructions to hop to one DT blog each day. On the individual blogs there will be a secret word or words for you to note down.  Once the week is over you will have a secret sentence to post on our Facebook Page under a post that will happen on Friday the 8th of November. Anyway here is what I popped together using last months kit Kaisercraft Christmas Carol

These crackers are super easy and take no time to make, So lets get cracking on how I made this little beauty. (pun very much intended)

I started off with some empty toilet rolls but you can also cut up an old paper towel insert too.

and a piece of scrap paper measuring 10x6 inches,

Here I used some old music note paper but most of this gets covered so don't worry if you don't have any.

 

Now the trick to getting the cracker shape is to roll your paper around the tubes and adhere with some double sided tape.

Once this is done slide the two outer rolls out a bit to create a space where your ribbon will go and then use a firm string or ribbon to crease the paper. (you can mist this area with a bit of water if its too heavy a cardstock too)

then you can remove the two outer rolls completely.

 

I have then taken some of the 6x6 Kaisercraft Paper and cut into 3 parts, 2 measuring 2 1/2 by 6 inches and one 3 1/2.

 Then I inked up the edges with Tim Holtz Distress ink Tea dye and rolled this around my main cracker piece with more double sided tape to adhere.

To decorate I have taken a few pieces from the Kaisercraft collectables and popped these up with dimensional tape and then as usual I went a little nutty with some glitter and ribbon.

Wallah, homemade crackers.

Boo easel card with Graphic 45 by Kristy

Hi all, Kristy here.

This week I have gone a little outside the lines and used the new Graphic 45 nursery rhymes paper to make this cute Halloween easel card. 

I wanted to show how versatile this paper was and that its not just for cutesy baby books etc (even though its great for that too)

So take a look.

I have also made a quick video explaining what I have used in more detail.

This Gorgeous stamp is named Hazel and she is from Wee Stamps, I have colored her up with my Distress markers on the Watercolor Distress cardstock

This is a Prima resin bird I have covered in Gesso and Tim Holtz Distress ink and also a wee bit of Metallic rubon

Here is a pumpkin I made using some more of the nursery rhymes paper and some mini brads

 Now here is a little look at the Prima resin clocks which I have altered with some distress inks and Metalic rubon also.

Also tucked in here are some flowers I have made with the Spellbinders rose creations and and a few other techniques, and again altered these with Gesso, rubon and some Diamond dust,

also tucked away is a crochet doily and some feathers from Scotties.

Here is another look at those Graphic 45 Papers and you can see the Gesso I have dry brushed on the cardstock for that spooky feel.

Sorry for the awkward angle here but I needed to show you some more of that gorgeous Nursery rhyme paper which I have punched with the Martha Stewart iron gate punch. 

 The resin stickers are held up with a Tim Hotlz memo pin. and you can just see the tip of my "potion vial" here (which is actually filled with Glimmer mist)

And here is another of the Prima resin birds and some of that burlap trim which was the inspiration for this whole card.

Well this is her all closed up and ready to go.

Baby Boy Album part two - Graphic 45 by Kristy Stevens

Hello bloggers,

Im back again to share the inside of my mini with you all,

This is a very picture heavy post so I will keep the gibber jabber to a minimum as best i can but go grab a cuppa of whatever you like and take a look.

You can find last weeks post by clicking here, but here is a quick picture of the cover to refresh your memory

So again the cover is cardstock inked up with Tim Holtz Distress ink (Chipped Sapphire) using the Prima Elemental stencil.

I have used a load of the stickers from this collection throughout this mini which I never normally do but this sheet is just fantastic.

Its hard to see here but the blue trim is actually punched with the Martha Stewart stars punch.

The die cut from this page is the Couture creations Helena die and it is just beautiful and works so well with the Star theme in this paper line

This next page pops out for loads for room for photos or journaling spots and I have created a little flower using Spellbinders Rose creations die, Glossy accents and a small circle punch for the center.

The Humpty Dumpty stamp is from the 12x12 paper Storytime and here I have made him into a pocket which holds some other rhymes from the same collection

Here I have used Spellbinders Label Seventeen to make a little booklet style photo mat

And just for giggles I went back to the Tim Holtz baroque die marked up with that Prima Stencil and Distress inks, but this time I added some Perfect Pearls to give it a real shimmer which shows up really well in person.

Baby Boy Album - Graphic 45 by Kristy Stevens

Hello again my lovelies!

This week I want to share with you a project I have made for a family member who found out on Tuesday she was having a baby boy, well as we are a family of a lot of girls I very excitedly rushed to my craft room and came up with the below little beauty in blue.

   

 

My inspiration came from the Graphic 45 Mother goose paper called Little Boy Blue,

 This paper has a bunch of nursery rhymes and journaling spots which I bound together with some cardstock to create an album.

I used a piece of plain cardstock 11 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches to wrap my chipboard which was cut at 6 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches with a 1 inch piece in between which I had punched with my Bind it all.

I then layered another piece of cardstock inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye and pierced out the holes for my Binding.

To make my background I have used my blending tool loaded with Chipped Sapphire Distress ink along with my Prima Stars Elements Stencil, and I just love how it turned out.

 

 

So here I have taken some of the Twinkle Little Star paper and run it through with the Tim Holtz Baroque die, and double distressed with ink.

Then using some of the the left overs I punched both sides with the Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch and added a Pearl String for some interest.

These images were fussy cut from the Nursery Rhymes paper which is just gorgeous and I have layered these up on popdots

Next I added some pennants cut from the paperline and used a rub on from Craft Creations along with some  DCWV chipboard letters to make my title.

To make the rub on blue I just went in with my Distress marker with no hassles.

 

The last thing I did was add my flower arrangement, I have used a bunch of goodies here including lots of Prima flowers, Buttons from Scotties and I have also fussy cut a lot of the flowers from the paper line too.

Sweet Graphic 45 Canvas

Hi all,

Kristy here with my first post using the new Graphic 45 Mother goose collection.

This is a beautiful and bright collection with a lot of room for interpretation but here is what popped into my head first.

 

I have used the Prima Stars Elements stencil to add some texture paste to my canvas (below) and then I painted with acrylic paints with Metallic rub on to give the stars a bit of pop.

 

I then added hills cut from the paper stack and attached and sealed with modpodge.

The digital image here is Murray from Saturated canary, She is printed on Ranger watercolour cardstock and colored with Distress inks and markers

the tittle was cut from the designer paper with my Cricut and this sentiment comes from the Nursery Rhymes cartridge.

 

to finish off the look I have added Prima say it in Crystals and some Prima flowers which I have sprayed with mists to tie in the pink, and lastly added some stamping around the rhyme using Couture Creations birthday collection
