Little Scruffy

 

Hello all, Kristy here again to show you my last project using the Kaisercraft Christmas carol collection.

This little guy is a digi stamp called Scruffy which I have printed on velum and colored from the back using Distress inks and Markers, and I just love how he turned out.

He is attached with eyelets and I have just added some pearls for his bells.

I made the rosette below with some left over scraps that were floating round (see it pays to be a hoarder), The larger strip I punched with the Martha Stewart iron fence Punch and the sticker which I have covered in Glossy accents to give it its shine is from the collections sticker sheet, This sheet is just soooooo fantastic, get it, get it, get it!

Hmm anyway, The "ribbon" is actually seam binding which I have colored with Distress stain (Barn door and Aged mahogany) and Glimmer mist.

I have added some roses with some "snowy" branches tucked in, these are actually cut from the Tim Holtz Autumn gatherings die and covered with Gesso and Dry Fne Glitter

Oh and I forgot to mention earlier the Bling in the top corner is cut from Craft Creations Rhinestone Frames and the punch running through the middle is from Fiskers.

Well that's it for my Christmas fix this month but this paper line has so much to offer I feel I could have come up with a year of projects and still had ideas and paper left over!

Santas Workshop

Hi, Kristy here again.

Today I want to show you another Christmas card using the Kaisercraft Christmas Carol collection

This image is from Make it Crafty and is colored with Distress inks with gold embossing powder for the bells.

The ribbon is American Craft and I have used Spellbinders Twisted metal tags for my workshop sign.
I also added a little homemade texture paste to act as snow!

 

The flowers are an assortment including a rose made using the Tim Holtz tattered pinecone die which I have covered in Stickles dry fine glitter, I love the sugary look!

Hello again, Kristy here

This week I have made a Christmas Album using the new Kaisercraft Christmas Carol collection, and my Bind it All.

This Album is also in the Scottie Crafts store so if you can drop in for a closer look.

I have used the All Ye Faithful paper for the background which already has these fantastic squares of paper however I wanted to change the order a bit so I cut out all the the squares and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink.  

Then I took some double sided adhesive paper and stuck the squares back in a pattern I preferred, Once  this was done I used my sewing machine to make holes and in place of thread used a gold gel pen to add "stitching"

 

The title was cut out on my Cricut both in gold glitter card and red card stock which I have adhered together.

The lantern here is the Tim Holtz Holiday Lampost which I have run through an embossing folder and added metallic rub on to show off the texture.

Here is a close up of the Tim Holtz Elegant Flourishes Die cut which I have painted with Rock Candy Crackle, inked with Barn Door Distress ink and added Diamond Dust for a snowy look.

  

Where to start on this one? Well the poinsettias are made with the Spellbinders Poinsettia Die on vellum and again I used some gold rub on to highlight the embossing, The pine cones are handmade using the Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone Die.
The ribbon is American Craft and the reindeer is a charm from the Tim Holtz idea-ology collection
The leaves,bling and berries are from my stash, Whew

The photo pages are black cardstock, and I have used my Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page corner punch to achieve this look.

Last but not least, the back is covered in Kaisercraft O Holy Night paper and the tag is from the 6.5x6.5 Christmas Carol paper stack.

Hello again, Kristy back with another post - its a long one too so go grab a coffee and settle in!

Today I am lucky enough to be able to show off the new Kaisercraft Christmas Carol paper line which has just been released this week!
As soon as I got this line my head was a buzz with ideas so here is what I came up with first!

This card is made with the 6x6 paper stack, the 12x12 specialty paper "white Christmas" (bingo card) and the Collectables for the Sentiment, which is mounted on foam tape.

I also got to play with some Ranger Distress watercolour card which I have absolutely fallen in love with!

It is fantastically easy to work with as the paper is made for distress inks so doesn't ball up with too much water like some card so you are really free to add lots of depth to an image, and if you make a mistake the paper is very forgiving so you can wash out the colour with water until its either gone or not very noticeable.  Honestly give it a go you wont regret it!

Here is a close up of the arrangement, I have used the Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone die for both the pinecones and the rose which is made out of Coredinations paper and covered in Diamond Dust, In Tim Holtz video he uses hotglue to attach the paper to the toothpicks but I found Glue dots work just as well and without the hassle or getting out my glue gun or burning my fingers (which I always do)
tucked in are also some Prima flowers and some little berry's from my stash (some of which I have covered in micro beads)

On the inside I have layered some of  the paper from the 6x6 pad with some parchment paper and as always distressed everything with distress ink (this time in black soot)

Below is a collage of my coloring, so you can see the steps I have taken, I must admit I got in a zone at the end so it does go pretty quickly:). 

The stamp is Angelica & Friends - Florence  and I have used Distress inks, Markers and Reinkers  to color her up.

Picture 1: Stamp image using Stazon ink or another permanent ink on to Ranger Distress watercolour card.

Picture 2: Using a Tim Holtz Water brush add some shadowing around the image to make it pop! (I mostly use pumice stone or weathered wood)

Picture 3:  Here I have added Tattered Rose onto the shadow areas of the skin and using small circles with my brush I have worked it into the centers.

I have also used my Tea dye ink and waterbrush to work in my shadows for my base hair colour.

Picture 4:  I have then gone in with my Distress Markers brush tip and flicked in some Vintage photo to emphasize my shadows and strands of hair and just tidied up with the fine tip in my Marker.

Picture 5: I have now layered a very watered down barn door colour to get an idea of where my highlights are going to be. 

Picture 6: This is showing the second layer of Barn boor really darkening up those shadow areas.

Picture 7: And this is where I got in the zone so sorry for the jump in images - I have gone in with some??????? for depth in her dress and coloured my accessories background using the same layering technique and then added Ranger Stickles Stardust to the wings.

Picture 8: (I have an issue of knowing when to stop:) so here I have added White Gel pen for highlights, it looks like I might have touched up her hair and I have also added in some Aged Mahogany into the shadows of her dress.

Picture 9: Here I have mounted her on Tim Holtz Baroque die stamped with his Fabulous Flourishes stamp. Then I added liquid pearls in random groups which I think on this image looks like snow!
